HCS SB 502 -- CONVEYANCES IN JOHNSON AND NODAWAY COUNTIES

SPONSOR:  Koster (Pearce)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass" by the Committee on
Corrections and Public Institutions by a vote of 8 to 0.

This substitute authorizes the Governor to convey an easement
over state property located in Johnson County to the City of
Warrensburg.

The Governor is also authorized to sell a piece of state property
located in Nodaway County belonging to Northwest Missouri State
University.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2008, FY 2009, and
FY 2010.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that there is a piece of property
adjacent to the state veterans home in Warrensburg that was
promised to the city.  A road was built, but there was no grant
of easement given.  The bill grants the easement to the city
giving them the right to use the property.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Avery for Senator
Koster.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
